biggerhouse productions is committed to producing new work for film and video, internet radio and live performance.

Sue Palmer and Stephen Clarke were founder members of the GOG THEATRE COMPANY, working for twelve years as actors, teachers and directors. Gog became one of South West England’s leading companies specialising in new devised performance work for regional and national touring, alongside theatre for young people.

From 1985 onwards, the company initiated a series of International Cultural Exchange Projects, working in Cameroon, West Africa, St Petersburg and the Republic of Georgia.

Stephen Clarke is an award winning film director living in Somerset. Having trained as a director at the Bournemouth Film School, his first film, THE ANORAK GANG was broadcast on Channel Four and ZDF/Arte (Germany, France, Italy) and was also showcased at numerous international festivals. His next film, THE DROP won ‘Best Director’ at the Yaraslovl Film Festival in Russia.

 

Currently working as a freelance director and editor. Website Coordinator/Assistant for Somerset Film and Video (SFV).

Commissioned to produce 12 minute documentary for FIGURES IN A LANDSCAPE series for HTV/SFV.

sue palmer  

Since 1992, Sue has freelanced as an actress, teacher and director. She wrote, directed and toured her own solo show MAGDALENE. In 1996, she began working with the internationally acclaimed mask and puppet theatre HORSE & BAMBOO as a performer and maker, touring nationally horse-drawn, and internationally with VISIONS OF HILDEGARD and THE LEGEND OF THE CREAKING FLOORBOARD.

 

  Sue has initiated and produced many multi-form media and arts projects. She has led numerous drama, voice and singing workshops in the South West, as well as working as musical director and conductor for the AVALONIAN FREE STATE CHOIR for over three years. Her most recent performance work was with WRIGHTS AND SITES in Exeter.

Sue is currently doing an MA in Cultural Performance at the University of Bristol.

Sue’s next performance project is Hair Raising, a Year of The Artist residency in GJs Hair Salon in Shepton Mallet, Somerset in February 2001. Combining live theatre performance, an audio documentary and a visual landscape the project explores the history, mythology and narrative of hair.
