The world of the butterfly with Stanley Messenger.

Using original sound and music composition, this documentary celebrates the unique relationship between flower and butterfly.

Journeying through the Great Breech Wood near Glastonbury, this programme explores the symbolism, dimensions and realities of the butterfly. In the search for Marbled Whites and Speckled Woods, Stanley relates his experiences and communications with the creatures that are some of the truly marvellous manifestations of nature - prepare to have your perception shifted.

Stanley Messenger is in his 83rd year. His life’s work has been to link the realities of the normal and the paranormal. He has worked as an actor, teacher, TV salesman and social worker. His inspiration from the Steiner movement in his mid-life provided him with a platform to explore many areas of the esoteric. His recent work has focused around Crop Circles and UFOs. Stanley is a very well-known and respected speaker and writer. He has recently moved back to Glastonbury.

Stanley has had a life-long fascination with butterflies, initially becoming entranced with them during frequent childhood visits to Winscombe in Somerset during the 1920s; the secret vale he remembers now has the M5 running through it. Throughout his life, Stanley has studied, documented and communicated with butterflies, with particular focus on the mountain genus Erebia in Europe.
