This place-responsive video projection work was made by Sue and Stephen during the digital arts workshop Outside In with young people (Kelvin Peach, Liam Grant and Charlotte Loving) at PVA Medialab. The projection was specially made for the two upstairs windows at Bridport Arts Centre, and was filmed over a few hours in Bucky Doo Square with over 30 residents and visitors to Bridport last October. It was shown at BAC on 5th February, and will be showing again over the next few months. More news on that soon…
Around Here and Out There
For anyone living around Langport, artist Simon Lee Dicker and Sue are leading a Making Matters project for Somerset Artworks in March. We’re offering a *free* day coach trip to Weston Super Mare on 5th March, because we’re going to see the Wonders of Weston – the new public artworks in the town – and and look out to Steepholme while eating the first ice cream of the season. WOW all round.
The coach trip is part of an intergenerational creative project all about art and design in public spaces, and it’s part of a long term project around Langport Town Garden. We’re inviting up to 30 people aged 25 and under, or aged 50 and over to be part of the adventure. So if you’re in the area and are interested in taking part, please email me for more info.

The No 1 Bus documented
The documentation created from the No 1 Bus project – Joff Winterhart and Sue Palmer’s collaboration for the B-Side festival 2010 – is up on the web.
The first set is the The No 1 Bus Drawing Book, with drawings by Joff, text by Sue and a written contribution from Sally Watkins about our collaborative work on the No 1 bus.
The second set is a collection of ‘handover stills‘ of all the moments where Joff gave away his original drawings to the passengers and drivers.
For anyone who didn’t get to hear the single we wrote for the bus, with great assistance from Simon Roberts, it’s available here for listening and download.
And a short film I made about our time on the No 1 is up here.
Stephen is currently in pre-production for this project which is a 10 minute DVD commissioned by NHS Somerset Partnership. After a few months of research and development, he is now in the process of choosing the final stories and plans to start shooting in January 2011.
A biggerhouse film production for JUMPcuts in association with Somerset Film 2009.
